Whilst there have been a plethora of singers who release their solo albums, here is one who is refreshingly and daringly different. All of 24, Shrradha Pandit, a hugely talented singer, has now released her debut album Teri Heer – for which she has not just sung but also written the lyrics and composed each song! This is quite a rarity. Teri Heer is a brilliant and interesting album that combines Sufi and Indian Fusion genres. The album has been released on SONY BMG.
Teri Heer is a blend of Indian melody and contemporary orchestration with all the eight tracks enhanced by the emotions of a young heart. Iha Sharma, 11 years old girl of Mumbai. She studies in 6th Standard in Janki Devi Public School. A girl with great thought and she at such a small age proved how Action speaks louder than words.
Iha used to watch TV and every time in news seeing the miserable and woeful condition of people and children in Bihar. Everyday watching children in such execrable and hard condition really filled her heart. She could feel the pain of those kids. And was thinking what she can do to help them. In the meanwhile, her father Mr. Sharma asked her to make the fixed deposit of the amount she is collecting in her piggy bank. Iha from 5 years was collecting money in her piggy bank. She thought, there must be 5-6thousand.
At that moment it strikes her that she can donate the amount present in piggy bank. With courage she went to her parent and asked that can she donate the amount which will be there in the piggy bank.
Her parents asked her to think again before the final decision because after a step is taken, you cant move back and don’t say I want my money back. And finally when she broke the piggy bank, to her surprise it had 21 thousand. Yet she was determined to donate the entire amount to News 24.

DELHI CM FINDS MUSIC SOOTHING AFTER A DAY OF HARD WORK

Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit said that music has always helped her to soothe her mind after the day's work. She said that music, and particularly if it was devotional or spiritual music, was like tonic to the tense world of today.
The Chief Minister was speaking after releasing the album 'Sohni meri Sheranwali' music album by Agra-based singer Rahul at her residence this morning. Renowned Sarod player Ustad Amjad Ali Khan who was present echoed her sentiments and said he had always been enthused by new singers who took to devotional or classical singing instead of just modern or rock music.
The album has been brought out by T-Series and is in audio CDs, VCDs and Cassettes. The album consists of eight devotional numbers like "Sohni Meri Sheranwali" , 'Jyot Jagdi', and "Laal Choodiyan Laal Chunri". The music is by Rahul himself and he has introduced two female voices with him: Gurman and Priyamvada. The Music arrangement has been done by Rahul and Anil Sharma.
Rahul said he also sings pop music but finds satisfaction in devotional music. He has already performed on MTV, where he shared the platform with singers like Usha Uthup, Sukhvir, Anamika and Anaida. He is presently working on a new pop album. He hopes to get recognition as a playback singer in the new future.

Recently Sky fusion group presented a unique Jugalbandi of SUFI GAYAN by THE LEGENDARY Sufi & Punjabi Pop singer HANS RAJ HANS (Padmashree Awardee) along with fusion music by “SKY” of SOVON HAZRA at Kamani auditorium in Delhi. The programme was supported by Lokayata, a centre for art & culture, founded by the celebrity author, Dr. Mulk Raj Anand. HANS RAJ HANS, of course, needs no introduction. SKY is a group of musicians experimenting in South Asian Fusion Music.
Renowned Sitar Maestro, Padmabhushan Awardee Pandit Debu Chaudhuri invited as Chief Guest on this occasion, who started the programme by lightening the ‘Jyoti’. Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra also made her presence to grace the event. Musical journey of this evening started with the Sovon Hazra’s composition ‘Dignity of Life’, where his entire crew Neel Ranjan Mukherjee on Hawaiian Guitar, Rajesh Prasanna on Flute, Manish Babu on Key Board, Vishal Mehra on Acoustic Drums and Saurabh Suman on Bass Guitar complemented his Tabla and Cajon to create a sweet symphony. Cajon is a kind of box drum played by slapping the front face (generally thin plywood) with the hands. ‘Illusion’ was the most electrifying and applauded composition at this evening with lots of variations.
Later Legend Hans Raj Hans took charge and presented a Sufiana Kalam ‘Rakho Mori Laaj Gharib Nawaz’ in Raag Megh. He was born into a peasant family. He sings Punjabi Folk and Sufi music but has also sung in movies and released his own Indipop albums. He has worked alongside other renowned artists such as the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, as seen in the movie ‘Kachhe Dhaage’.
He continued his performance by presenting couple of Poetries of famous of Poets followed by ‘Mere Sheba Main To Hu’, ‘Haq Bahu Dam Dam Bahu’. He then rendered a beautiful Qawali ‘Nit Khainr Manga Soniya Main Teri’ as a tribute to legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He accompanied by Jaswant Roy on Dholak, Mary Butty on Harmonium and Chorus Jaspal, Lal chand and Amrit Singh. His performance was so energetic that not even a single audience was able to move from seat. Listeners were going on asking for their favorite numbers and it was like an unending flow of melody. No one was in a mood to go back to home though the time was fleeting.
After the concert, speaking to media, Hans Raj Hans said that “I am very much greatful to Sovan, who invited me and gave an opportunity to perform for such a sweet audience”. Sovon said that “music is not just a part of my life, music itself is my life, it is my fortune that he accepted to join us for this Rare Jugalbadi. It’s been thirty eight years while practicing music and there is still so much to learn”.
A part from musical fraternity, Amit Sharma- CEO Amrapali Group, Mukesh Gupta- Managing Director Graphisads, Prabhat Jha- Oriental Insurance, Arif- ACME and Naresh Goel- CMD Coco Foum were among the guests. The cultural evening was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi, in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Chief Justice of Supreme Court & Subhash Chandra Sehgal-Chairman, Ozone Group. “Assam Association Delhi is bringing all the essence of Assam to Capital by organizing cultural events time and again. Especially for artists nature has been a good element of inspiration for their art, Painters has always love to bring the nature on their canvas. Recently, an NGO called Artists Circle organized a stunning exhibition of paintings by more than 30 renowned painters at Lokayat Gallery, Hauz Khas in the capital city.

This painting exhibition started with a spectacular inauguration by Hon'ble former union minister Dr. Karan Singh. The painting was made spectacular by presenting paintings of Mahjabin I Majumdar, Janak Jhankar Narzary, Suhas Roy, Pankaj Panwar, Prasanta Sahu, Pampa Panwar, Ajit Seal, ChandrimaBhattarcharya, Jogen Chowdhury, Lalu Shaw etc.

Recently 17 member team of Japanese students arrived in capital to celebrate, India- Japan friendship year in association of Indian Cultural SO, Japan. Interesting part of this celebration was that the 17 members were hosted by 9 various Indian families. These Japanese students were sent to India to feel the essence of Indian Festivals, Culture, Culinary and Home Environment to realize the concept of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam. According to Indian Cultural SO president Dr. Uchida, “during our visits to India, we used to stay in five star hotels and we have suffered from digestive problems due to the food but, this time we have enjoyed our trip as well as food at the fullest as we have stayed with Indian Families at their residence.” “We can’t forget the way the Indian Families have received us and treated us. Especially the vegetarian dishes are very much tasty. All the girls in are team have taken the recipes of various dishes to cook in Japan” he added.

A North East Cultural Dance Festival & Fashion Show was organized by Assam Association Delhi at India Gate Lawn recently as a part of its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Various artists and more than 20 renowned models from Assam arrived in capital to bring the culture, tradition, Ethnic Fashion and Folk dance forms from the land of festivals. Chief Guest Hon’ble Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar inaugurated the programme by lightning ‘Mashals’ while rendering a beautiful song ‘Apoorva Milan Ka Raag’ by Songs and Drama division of Assam. He appreciated the efforts of Assam Association and praised their services towards Assam’s remarkable diversity of the Culture. “Assam Association is contributing to the unity of India, while preserving our enormous diversity. I wish them many more years of fruitful service to the Assam’s culture” he added. Chief Justice of Delhi High Court M.K. Sharma was also present to enjoy this colorful evening.

Pure Monga Silk fabric was used by designer Madhumita Sekia in her all designs, first round was a peculiar traditional round where feathers, traditional and tribal jewellery was used. In the second round designer presented casual wares meant for working people and college students, where traditional fabrics from Assam were used largely. Third round was full of colorful attires with western touch.
After this spectacular fashion show, the sequence of dances continued with ‘Bardoi Sikhla’ a dance form of Boda tribe, ‘Cherao’ dance from Mizoram, ‘Ojapali Deodhani’ nritya- a Assam devotional folk, ‘War dance’ from Nagaland, ‘Abotanai’ dance from Arunachal Pradesh, ‘Bhortal Nritya’ devotional dance form, ‘Phailela’ from Tripura, Martial art from Manipur, the penultimate dance performance was from Meghalaya called ‘Nongkhrem’, Programme concluded with last but not the least and most awaited dance from ‘Bihu’.

Programme named “Strings for Peace” organized by Assam Association to begin its diamond jubilee celebrations at Siri Fort Auditorim. Sarod strings of Maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan Ali Khan & Ayaan Ali Khan created heart warming music to beguile Delhitees. Entire surroundings were filled with the music generated for the peace by the Maestro. The Assam Association, Delhi is an organization of the persons from Assam residing in Delhi and the NCR. It was founded as Assam Snagha in the year 1947 to preserve and propagate the rich and divergent culture and traditions of Assam.
Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan started this concert by rendering a Raag Purnadhanasi. These Khan Brothers are the 7th generation in the unbroken chain of the Senia Bangash School and disciples of Maestro Amjad Ali Khan.
After this energetic performance Ustad Amjad Ali Khan took charge and created magic with his Sarod he started with Raag Shivanjali to continue the concert with Zillah Kafi. He also presented self coined Raag Ganesh Kalyan, which is created for a concert held at Ganesh Pooja and has a touch of Raag Kalyan. Hence it is named as Raag Ganesh Kalyan. He concluded his solo performance by giving an Asamee touch by presenting Bihu, a traditional form of Assam.
Maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan Ali Khan & Ayaan Ali Khan jointly presented an energetic performance to conclude the concert. She was admitted in our clinic on 28th November. Her hemoglobin was 2.2gm%. WBC count was 3000, platelet count was 15.00lakhs. After engineering her diseased genes, her symptoms disappeared within 72 hours. She did not require blood transfusion. Dr. Baruah is receiving more enquiries from patients of Rajasthan having same syndrome.

They need to come forward to prepare a roadmap for the permanent solution of these sacred places to protect from the jaws of these terrorist elements who are the real enemies of humanity working internally and externally.
For achieving these great goals a conference of great and distinguished representatives is going to be held in the National capital Delhi representing millions of devotees from north to south concerning with Khawaja and with Sufis. This historic convention will be held in NEW DELHI on 3rd and 4th December 2007 at (India Islamic Cultural Centre Lodhi Road New Delhi) under the banner of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz Council. Director Pankaj Shukla is making casting coups for Bhojpuri Cinema again and again. Last one heard about his debut film as director was for the news that he has managed to rope in two times National Award Winner for Best Actor and a cult star of Hindi Cinema, Mithun Chakraborty in his film "Bhole Shankar". Then he roped in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Finalists Raja Hasan and Mauli to sing for this film. Raja Hasan lapped the song which was originally composed keeping Rahet Fateh Ali Khan in mind whereas Mauli sings a peppy solo number in the film.

Dance is said to be one of the prominent medium to praise the God. It could be any dance form. Dance has all the characteristics, which a language has. That’s why students of Starex International School, Vasundhara Enclave children chose to dance as a medium to depict ‘Navaras’ or nine emotions of life on the stage on their school annual day function. Annual day function was inaugurated by former Vice Chief of Army Lt.Gen Chandrashekhar (Retd). The function was well attended and presided by the President of East Point Society Maj Gen Harvant Kishan and the school Chairman Mr. M L Babbar.
A grand show was put up by the students. This entire celebrations ruled by the performances of more than 400 students. The programme started by a ballet on happiness and joy by pre primary children. ‘Navras’ or nine emotions of life were depicted in a colourful extravaganza. “A Ballet” by more than four hundred students of the school was a display of human emotions and their effect on history was presented through dance and drama with visual effects.

One can not forget these songs, and also the melodious voice in which these songs were recorded, yes, that is Anwar Hussain. He was in capital to promote his new album "Tohfa". We had an interesting conversation with him regarding his long exile from Industry and much more………….

First of all we would like to know about your new album?
Well, "Tohfa"is a compilation of 8 songs in which "Hum Se Ka Bhool Hui", "Teri Akhon Ki Chahat"from the film ‘Janta Adalat’and "Mohabat Ab Tijarat Ban Gai Hai"from the film ‘Arpan’ are remixed by Sidharth, other songs in this album " Tohfa" are original and written by Katil Shifai and music composition is done by music director Musafir.

"Humse Ka Bhool Hui" and, "Mohabat Ab Tijarat Ban Gayi Hai" songs are already very much popular among listeners, is there any particular reason to remixing them?
As every one knows the remixed songs are really becoming popular among the youngsters, and I believe that we should update our self according to the trend and that’s the reason.
What is the reason behind your sudden exile from the industry, that too when you were at the peak of your career?
I was busy with my stage shows, there are huge audiences internationally who really appreciate Bollywood music. I was giving stage performance in America and Holand, and received tremendous response.
What made you to think about an album?
When you sing for a movie, you have to sing according to the music director and some times according to the producer. When it comes to private album you will have a liberty to sing as you feel. Even I wanted to do the same, couple of days back I happened to read Katil Shifai’s poetry and I liked it and in this way album "Tohfa".is in front of you.

Tell us about your album vedio’s?
We made videos of all the 8 tracks. These days’ audiences and listeners are very keen to watch the songs rather than listening. Nowadays, making videos has become mandatory.

Which song of "Tohfa" you like more?
As we worked very hard for every song, I like all the songs in this album, and I am sure that we will get good response from listeners also.
When can we hear you again in movies?
Currently I am free after the album "Tohfa", yet to think about singing for movies.

Capital Delhi has been a platform for many exhibitions throughout the year, but the India International Trade Fair popularly known as Trade Fair has its own importance because people wait for this exhibition every year. World famous Punjabi pop singer Malkit Singh cleared

Recently Pop singer Malkit Singh called up a press meet in the capital to clear the allegation put on him by news channels, in which the channels shown the involvement of Malkit Singh in Human Trafficking. The incorrect, scandalous and defamatory reporting by various National TV News Channels (Zee News, India TV, Star News, NDTV, Times Now, Samay etc.) pertaining to world famous Pop singer Malkit Singh and his wife Harbans Kaur wherby it was reported that Punjabi Pop Singer Malkit Singh, his wife and the 28 members of the troop were arrested by Delhi Police at Delhi Airport, when they were trying to travel to America for musical programme on forged visa documents.

With this reporting the photograph of Pop singer Malkit Singh and hit songs from his musical albums were also shown. In fact he was celebrating his birthday in Chicago with his wife when he come to know about the story which shown his involvement in Human Trafficking. And on 10 of October he was in New York to perform in a wedding ceremony.
Pop Singer Malkit Singh explained his plights due to this misunderstanding of news channels, he said "what ever name I earned in music industry during these 22 years of my career has turned as a blemish with in a half an hour and any amount of money can not compensate this defame. I am a British passport holder and I am staying in UK since 1984. All my troop members are also Britishers and holders of British passport, as every one knows they do not require Visa for travelling".

He said, "The aforesaid reporting has caused serious damage to my respect and reputation circle of friends, relatives more over in the society". My children when they are going out, people around them are asking them about this scandal, I couldn’t sleep since one month due to the queries and reactions of my friends and relatives, he added.

"Shiv Shambho"is again a Rock Song, "Maula Ali" is an intense Sufi, "Dum Dum" is a strong song based on modern Sufi Punjabi Folk Music, "Gopaala" is a soul stirring call to the heavens, "Durge Maa" is a loving plea with today’s foot tapping rhythms, "River of Joy" is a waltz, "Mast Kalander" is the modern folk & "Jhoom" is today’s Qawali style.

Hema came up with the slogan ‘Save the Girl Child’ in this album. She has sung and also composed six songs in this album and written lyrics of all songs herself. Sunny Ali (Based in Hong Kong) has composed and written some of the songs in the album while Hyacinth D’Souza has designed the music arrangement.
For the first time, this album brought religions Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and Buddhism together. Team of film Desh Drohi was shooting in Dubai for couple of scenes. There were just 4 days to go to finish the schedule. But, actress Gracy Singh flown from Dubai to India with out informing to Producer Kamal Kahan, because she was really scared with the mess at the shooting location by the cops of Dubai, Producer Kamal Khan was not aware that shooting is not allowed in that zone, though there was a board written in Arabic language.

When they stated shooting in that area the cops mobbed leading a huge buzz.

Recently a two days Namaste India festival was held in Tokyo the heart of Japan by India Centre Foundation (ICF). Thousand of Japanese and Indians living in Japan were present at the festival at famous Yogi-Koyan Park.

In this two days Namaste-India event Japanese became crazy about Bollywood Hungama, Indian Food and Baba Ram Dev’s Yoga. This event took place under the sky and in front of the stage thousand of people were enjoying those performances. Delhi’s famous model and dancer Ritu Singh and Twinkle Jaggy a Japan Singer has danced in a group to entertain the people and in fact the most important thing was that rain was going on and all the audiences stuck to their seats with umbrellas. Not only the Bollywood Hungama but Japanese have enjoyed Krishan Lila, Bhangra, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Bansuri Vadan and Japanese Indian Play which was appreciated a lot. But the most appreciated programme was Bollywood Hungama. Second appreciation was given to Indian food, almost 40-50 food stall was there and Japanese were very much excited to have Indian food. Most demanding food was Dal Makhni and Butter Nan. All Japanese had Jalabi and they all were in surprised by thinking that how this sweet liquid was filled into Jalebi.

In this event the exciting point was Indian Center. The entrance of Indian Centre was designed as India Gate. According to Mr.Vibhavkanth of India Centre, the intention behind this event to give boost to the tourism and employment in both Indian and Japan. He said, Indian should not be known for only Taj Mahal in Japan, it should be known for its diverse culture, tradition and other qualities. In Japan people even know Shah Rukh Khan and there is a huge demand for his movies and even they appreciate Indians for the IT knowledge. Now Japanese are giving more importance to Indians and this is what we wish. Brandsmit’s Rahul Mittra said that we tried to give different flavors in this two days festival like Folk Dance, Bollywood Performances, Different Indian Food, Yoga and I hope Japanese and Indians like the way this was presented. Rahul Mittra is the man who arranged the dancers, models and media etc.

Baba Ram Dev was surprised to see that no one in Japanese is fat. And he said in India and Europe the main aim of Yoga is to reduce weight but in Japan yoga is required for stress and in this whole world there is no medicine for stress. For this stress Baba Ram Dev taught many yoga Ashans to them such as Kapal Bhati, Pranayam and Dhyan etc. Indian Centre Foundation’s Chairman Vibhavkant Upadhyai said, Baba Ram Dev has come here on special request. After completing the camp, Japanese asked many remedies for the problems related to there health. Japan Electronic media and Print media were also interested in Baba Ram Dev’s Yoga and they have given very good coverage.

According to director Aaditya Dutt this movie is a situational comedy with all kind of characters in it every character is so involved in this movie that the audience can have a good recipe of comedy this year. TV serial –‘Jurm Ke Baad’ begins to spread social awareness

It was the auspicious occasion for studio 309 family because it was the launch party of their TV Serial Jurm Ke Baad. Serial Jurm Ke Baad is meant to portray the circumstances that prevail after someone commits a crime. These criminals are not professional but they become killers or criminals due to the frustration, and short temper which last for a while and leave its impact on the entire family of the criminal. This serial is being directed by Aziz Ahmad, who started his career initially as a journalist and them turned towards direction and script writing. He wrote script for the famous crime serial India’s Most Wanted.

Salsa dancer Fernando presented spectacular salsa dance to entertain the audience on this occasion. Guests from various fraternities marked their presence at the party to encourage the team of studio 309 with best wishes for their up coming projects. Classical Evening with Legends of Music World

According to Ramayan there was a Pushpak Viman (Flowery Plane) and that was meant to carry Rama from Lanka to Ayodya along with his nears and dears, in that there will be always a room for another person, though it seems fully occupied, same as this flowery plan, every musician who works hard and who dedicate him self to produce quality music will always has a special place in the hearts of Music Lovers. Recently an evening was organized by Sopori Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Capital at India Habitat Centre, Stein Auditorium.

This is the first ever festival featuring just the senior musicians. On this eve the main focus was to highlight the traditional Gharana system. Sa Ma Pa is not just a music academy but a cultural movement with a focus on the youth. The Motto of Sa Ma Pa is “Jan Jan Tak Sangeet”- Music to the masses. Sa Ma Pa (Sopori Academy of Music And Performing Arts) presented this festival titled ‘SaMaPa Sangeet Vibhuti’ to feature some of the legends of Indian music.

This evening experienced Musical aroma of different Gharanas with vocal and instrumental performances by the legends of Music world. The evening began with ‘Saraswati Vandana’. Performances started with magical Rag Bhopali by Ustad Rahim Fahimuddin Dagar (Dhrupad) he accompanied by Sunil Kumar on Tanpura & Vijay Kumar and on Pakhawaj Dal Chand Sharma and continued with Ustad Faiyaz Khan’s Tabla performance that enthralled the audiences with thumping beats of Tabla along with Asif Ali Khan (Sarangi), Emran Khan (Tabla). Later Pandit Vidyadhar Vyas (Vocal) filled the entire environment with the fragrance of melody, Prasoon Chatterjee added some more flavor to this performance with his Tabla.

It involves over 120 artistes, spectacular sets and extensive real-time shooting at many sites related to Sai Baba for over 30 days.
The role of Sai Baba is enacted by noted film and stage actor Sudhir Dalvi. There were other stars include Vikram Gokhale, Rohini Hattingadi, Aloke Nath, Shammi Kapoor, Vijendra Ghatke, Dharmendar, Alka Kapoor, Arif Zakaria, Kishori Sahane, Bali Brahambhatt and introduces Aushim Khetarpal in the role of Baba's crusader.

Child artist Zain Khan arrived at Fun Cinema to celebrate the success of “Chain Khuli Ki Main Khuli”

Zain Khan, who worked in about 140 advertisements at the age of 13 including with Sachin Tendulkar. And has films like Krrish, Parineeta, My wife’s murder etc. in his filmography. Zain Khan recently arrived in Fun Cinema at Vidyadhar Nagar, Jaipur to celebrate the success of his latest movie “Chan Khuli Ki Main Khuli” staring Rahul Bose, Rajesh Khera and Kapil Dev. Fun Cinema staff welcomed him in a traditional way with tillak.

Zain is very happy with his latest release and with the response given by the audiences. He says, I played orphan - Karan in this movie. The film revolves around him, who lives in a dilapidated orphanage owned by a stern, uncouth warden, John Kakkad (Rajesh Khaira). Karan has two dreams- to have parents and to be a big cricketer. His inspiration is Kapil Dev and Kapil Dev’s bat in the’83 World Cup victory, becomes a magic bat for Zain.

Zain Khan shared his on location experiences during this visit. He says’ working with Rahul Bose is a tremendous experience. He his clever witted, punctual, and professional. I learnt so many things from him, lot of cricket too. More over his sense of humour is very nice; there will be a message even in his joke. The environment was similar to home and director Kituu Salooja made us very comfortable during the shooting.

It’s fun time for kids, specially with the Indo-Pak matches thrown in between and with both Zain and Rahul getting touchy-feely in the emotional bits.

HC absolves NRI of smuggling charge

After the 4 years long struggle for the prestige at last Pushpa Lekhumal Tolani won the legal case against Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, and call a press conference to put forward her experience in in front of a common man, she said that people like us from sound and reputed family suffered to get the prestige back and what about a common man. In this Press conference which was held in Le Meridian New Delhi Pushpa Lekhumal Tolani’s husband Sonjoy Chatterjee explained how they suffered from the legal allegations. Here is the synopsis of the entire story in his own words.

I would like to begin by my wife and I thanking you for coming here this evening, and to hear from us about our experience of our fight for justice. We fought this case in order to prove we were telling the truth, and more importantly to keep our prestige unblemished. Along the way we were required to make many sacrifices. But that is another story! For the record,The Press reported a seizure of jewellery brought into India by a NRI lady in November 2002.
The DRI also let some trivial information be known to the Press that made us appear guilty even before the trial started. Due to our defence counsel not leading any evidence to prove to the ACMM that we were carrying our bonafide jewellery, we were convicted in September 2004. The press duly reported this event. As a result, we had no choice but to change our lawyers and fight for the truth. We filed our appeal against the conviction in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge in January 2005. It has taken us 4 years to prove we did not smuggle and that we were carrying our own personal jewellery. We have given you copies of the relevant court orders and a detailed statement about our experiences and thoughts we have about the whole experience in the accompanying CD. We hope you will now report this development.

In summary,
The DRI misused information received, by alleging information received by them which said we were not going to declare the jewellery we were carrying.
However, UK Customs have written to my lawyers stating that a MOU about mutual assistance was the only reason why some information was given to the Indian authorities. (We have given you a copy of that letter in this folder.) We felt the department and the Customs authorities intentionally misinterpreted and misapplied the rules that relate to personal effects of non-Indian passport holders in order to harass us. After receiving the adjudicating order in August 2003, we realized that to prove our innocence we had to file a civil writ petition before the Delhi High Court. This was done in October 2003. Thereafter the numerous court dates, applications filed and arguments before the bench, which has been an exhausting experience for us, we have been exonerated from all charges by a Double Bench of the Delhi High Court on 13th September 2006. The Court of the Additional Sessions Judge has also acquitted us for non-declaration under the relevant sections of the Customs Act on 11th April 2007.

The satisfaction in proving our innocence is rewarding.
We sincerely thank and would like to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to the Indian Judicial system for addressing and finishing this case in a relatively short time. Having decided to live in Delhi to complete the case was an enormous financial and emotional strain for our family.

Spring Fair 2007 at Bulgarian Embassy

Bulgarian Embassy organized one day Spring Fair 2007 in association with Mahila Mangal at Bulgarian Embassy, Chandra Gupta Marg. This was a complete fair with Amazing Shopping, Fashion Boulevard, Designer Jewellery, Lucky Draw, Organic Holi Colors, Children Corner, Live Singing, and International Food Court. This fair was inaugurated by Arvinder Singh (Minister of Education and Tourism) in presence of Bulgarian ambassador Mrs. Mr. Dragovest Goranov & Sulochana Agarwal (Chairperson Manthan Kala Academy)

On occasion 50th anniversary of year of Mahila Mangal, this fair was organized and the funds which will rise from this fair will be used for under privileged section of the society. Mahila Mangal was started with 4 women and this seed has grown as a huge tree with more than 700 members in it. It’s working for so many charities as well as for entertainment of their own members. Mahila Mangal is giving training to women in Computer, short hand, type writing, embroidery, Tailoring, Beautician course for nominal fees. 300 children have been educated by Mahila Mangal.

MSFS named fashion designing institute is been running by Mahila Mangal which is giving training, and giving new dimensions to the works which done by women. This is the era of fashion that’s why we entered in field of fashion designing, we are helpinfg other classes of society.

Arvinder Singh said that women are creative and they have to be in touch with other activities to bring their creativity out to utilize in many fields apart from house hold works.

This one day fair will be organized three times very year to raise funds to help under privileged of the society. All food stalls, Fashion Boulevard stalls has been put by house wives in this fair.

India is becoming a big market for animation films now a day because every Indian family is ready to go the extra mile to please their children. The technology in animation films is also increasing day by day. Initially there used to be 2D films then it came to 3D films now its time to 4d films. 4D theaters were not available for Indian audience; they used to enjoy 4D movies during their foreign visits but, audience can enjoy the animation movie in 4D Theater in India. Recently in Delhi Kids 4D theater launched at Shipra Malls Jam Multiplex. Shipra Mall is the largest mall in Delhi as well as in NCR region. Speaking to media Rahul Sharma (General Manager Jam, Shipra Mall) said, this is the first Kids 4D theatre in India. It was in pipe line since a long time, and we have decided to launch this in this year after a long preparation. Especially these kinds of films are mostly liked in Europe by audiences. Know we have started this in India for the first time because we wanted to give some thing exciting and new to our audience. With the help of Austria based soft ware company we brought this technology to India.

Audience can enjoy 3D as well as 4D film in this theater at a time. Like 3D films audience has to ware special goggles while watching this movie. The difference between 3D and 4D movies is that the spectator can feel the fast blowing wind, rainstorm, water falls around him/her and the seats will move according to the film sequence, since audience can feel the excitement. This is the reason why audience will love to watch this movie. Presently ‘Foard Vision’ 7 ‘Magic Carpet’ are being showing at Jam multiplex audience can enjoy these movies in Rs/-50 for 3D theater and in Rs/-100 of ticket. According to Rahul Sharma of Jam Multiplex they will change the movie in every fort night and they are going to introduce the Combo offer shortly, where children can enjoy the Kids Zone along with movie.

Abhay Rustum Sopori, the internationally acclaimed Santoor Maestro and Music composer has been awarded the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademy’s first ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ for the year 2006. This award is been constituted this year only and shall be given to prominent personalities every year for their contribution and achievements in performing arts such as Music, Dance, Drama. This award consists of a cash prize of Rs.25,000 along with a citation. The award ceremony’s date has to be finalized by the Sangeet Natak Akademy.
Abhay Rustum is the youngest Santoor Player of India from Delhi born in beautiful valleys of Kashmir, in a musical environment and spiritual surroundings; he has been the torch bearer of the exclusive traditional Santoor family of the country. He is the son of Santoor Legend Pt. Bhajan Sopori. He learnt Santoor from Grand Father Pt. Shambhoo Nath Sopori and from his father. He has immense musical sense from traditional Sufiana Gharana. He also acquired knowledge of Western Classical Music to get a base for systematic compositional work.
Abhay has performed in so many concerts at national and international levels to spread the Indian music through his magic of Santoor. Opening-Strings, Shehjaar, Aao Kadam Badhayain, etc. are some of his innovations in the field of music.
Other artists who have been awarded the first ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar include Niladri Kumar (Sitar), Sandipan Samajpati & Manjari Kelkar (Vocal), A.A. Star of Traffic Signal appeared in Fun Cinema

Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal has released all over India. Kunal Khemu, Neetu Chandra were in Delhi recently for a press conference at Fun Cinema, Cross River Mall. As soon as reached at Fun Cinema all the photographers of Print and Electronic were surrounded them for photographs till 15- 20 minutes to give a warm welcome to Kunal Khemu & Neetu Chandra.

First of all they apologized for their delay by putting the reason forward for the delay and started the conference. Kunal Khemu shared some moments during the Traffic Signal Shoot and expressed his gratitude towards the director for giving him such and opportunity and said that, You all have seen me in Kalyug, this is my second film even though I’ve got an opportunity to work with Director like Madhur Bhandarkar its my fortune. I was very much pleased with his work and I would like to work with him in future even. It was really nice to work with him. What ever movies he directed till now are realistic this film is also one among them. We are all come across the traffic signal, but I wasn’t aware about what exactly happens there. After working in this film I come to now about some facts. Apart from director I have enjoyed working with my other co-stars like Neetu, Konkana ji, Sudhir Mishra etc. in this film.

Speaking about her character, other star of the film Neetu Chandra said that, in this film I am playing a girl who comes from Gujarat with my younger sister; keep selling some commodities for my livelihood. As a home work for this character, I have spent some time with the people who are all stay at traffic signals and tried to grasp their accent, dressing, life style etc. It was really difficult to speak and be like them during the shoot, but director Madhur Bhandarkar made it simple for me. I never thought that I can do this kind of role. It was nice experience to work with such a nice crew in this film and learnt so many things from my senior artists. Answering to a question that how it was working with Kunal in this film? She said that, what should I say, he is acting since his child hood and as you now he is a good actor.

After the press conference at Fun Cinema at Cross River Mall, these stars spent their some time at V3S Fun Cinema Lakshmi Nagar where all the audiences took their autographs and photographs.
