Najam Sheraz- one of the most prolific musicians of Pakistan in India with his new album.

India is becoming ‘second home’ for most of the Pakistani artists and because of the modern day blend of Hindi and Urdu spoken in both countries, songs sung by Pakistani artists and listened to by millions of Indians an Pakistanis have connected the two countries in a way they have never been able to before. The younger Indian generation’s love of Pakistani bands has done what politicians find difficult –reduce tension between the two countries. In this series another Pakistan artist Najam Sheraz visited India to promote his new album “Najam”. Apart from media interaction, he also performed live at Crowne Plaza Delhi. He presented some of original tracks of popular Bollywood numbers. Never scared of trying new experiments in music, Najam Sheraz is now entering into another dimension with a brand new album “Najam”.
Najam Sheraz is one of the most prolific musicians of Pakistan. He is an extremely versatile singer who enraptures his audience with this melodious and alluring voice. Music has always been Najam Sheraz’s true passion. His fascinating career in music includes a wide range of albums and singles that are considered to be anthems worldwide. Who can forget the heartrending melody of “Menu Tere Naal” which was re-written as “Bheegay Hont Tere” for the movie Murder and went on to become a massive hit.
Being a true artist, Najam Sheraz believes in the philosophy that spreading peace and harmony through music is a greater cause than simply composing music for entertainment. He believes that this mentality generates music that is truly long-lasting. This is the reason why he is still around and growing as a musician ever since he began his musical journey in 1994 and is the only Pakistani artiste other than the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to feature in the original soundtrack of a major Hollywood production. He has featured on the original soundtrack of Twentieth Century Fox movie “Split Wide Open”.”It gives immense pleasure when our gives awareness apart from entertainment, recently a school from Raipur wanted to show our video to girl students and I feel its an honor to my work” said Najam.
The powerful compositions on the album depict an amalgamation of various genres. Be it Eastern classical or folk, rock or funk, and even blues, Najam Sheraz excels in all genres of music. This unique talent has promoted Najam as a musical icon and has distinctly placed him in the spotlight, apart from other artists.
The new album is an extension of artist’s personality. It is an assortment of thought provoking numbers, ballads and all other genres that Najam Sheraz is a master at. The title track “Khwabon Ke Rishtey” talks about incomplete relationships and set backs in love and life. The same has been beautifully depicted in a music video that captures the pain and agony of such broken relationships through stories of three teenage girls. The video is in certain ways a landmark music video as it also brings to light certain issues that are prevalent in our society but are often swept under the carpet as people find it uncomfortable to talk about them. The track “Dil Tumhara Bhi Hai” is a Hindi/English love ballad with Natalie Williams, A famous Jazz Singer and the star performer of Ronnie Scotts (World's most famous Jazz Club) London. Track such as ‘Mahiya’ deals with universal women empowerment with the everlasting story of Heer-Ranjha as the backdrop. Other tracks like Chedey Man Ke Taar, Jaa Re Jaa, Love You More Than Anything, Mera Yaar Bina Dil Lagda Nahin capture various moods of Romance – from the Fun n Frolic to the Pain and Agony.
Najam Sheraz’s latest album features some renowned musicians like – Chris Eaton co-producer, Pianist (who has done many no1s of Cliff Richards, Amy Grant, Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson). Miles Bould a legendary percussionist (who has done many tours and recording sessions with Sting, Michael Jackson, Cher, Tina Turner, The Sugababes, Beyonce) Dan Wheeler, a phenomenal sound creator with Guitars Mark Edwards, a Jazz musician and a trippy programmer Paul Evans on Drums, Matt Weeks and Collin on Bass and Colin Walker who engineered and recorded all live instruments Paul Burton (Paulie Poppadom) The Mixer.
