IT Power India Ltd., Suzan Energy, Asian Electronics Ltd. BEE, TERI, Center of research Excellence in Renewable Energy and Mahirishi Solar Technology etc. setup their stalls at this International Renewable Energy Trade Show to exhibit their projects and products. Speaking to reporters Anil Razdan-Add Secretary, Ministry of Power said that, "apart from the energy generated from wind, solar energy is the only energy which can replace the energy generated from Oil & Petroleum and vast utilization of solar energy will reduce the imports of oil and petroleum in India. In this way we can also reduce pollution in order to reduce Green House Effect".
According to Vilas Muttemwar -Hon’ble Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy, there is lot of potential in this sector for investors, Government also providing incentives for those who are keen to establish power plants as Vestas. Lot of research is also going on the better ways of the utilization of Solar Energy.Prof. Ashok Parthasarathi - Former Secretary of the Govt. of India emphasized on the need of awareness about the usage of Solar Energy starting from household to Industrial Utilization and among Politicians, Media, Civil Servants and parents. He also emphasized on the need of investments in this sector. On this occasion he recollected the interest of the then Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi towards the maximum utilization of Solar Energy.
Rakesh Bakshi- President, Solar Energy Society of India & M.D. of Vestas RRB India Ltd. said they are all set to generate 400 mega watts of solar energy per annum from the power plant to be started near Chennai and will hope fully generate 1000 mega watts of solar energy per annum with in 2-3 years.
